GUNS AND CALIBER

HANDS UP!!

Ever wondered why they keep using the term "caliber" with relation to a gun? well in case you didn't know,the caliber is the inside diameter of the barrel,a part of the gun.The barrel diameter is generally given in "inches"and in its place the abbreviation "cal"is used. For example a gun with a bore diameter 0.30 inches is a .30cal or a 30calibre gun ignoring the decimal value.
The calibers of weapons can also be specified in terms of millimeters eg: 22millimeteres
